These exquisite Cabbages & Roses vintage cushion covers are handcrafted by me, from authentic French linen sheeting, the kind that once graced grand country beds centuries ago. The fabric is beautifully time-worn – soft and supple from years of gentle laundering. It has a patina that only age can give. It feels like holding a piece of quiet history in your hands.
In one corner, a pair of elegant hand-stitched initials, are carefully worked in a red thread that complements the linen’s natural creamy white colour. It is simple, discreet and perfectly in keeping with traditional French trousseau style. The front panel is framed with the iconic “Hatley” linen print from Cabbages & Roses, giving the cushion a romantic, English Country garden charm that marries beautifully with the understated French linen. Put together, it’s the perfect blend of French provincial restraint and English cottage romance. Please note, these cushion covers purposely present an intentionally “lived-in” and relaxed appearance rather than a pristine, brand-new look. All internal seams have been zigzag stitched to prevent fraying. A concealed zip (neatly inserted along the bottom edge) allows for the cover to be easily removed for cleaning.

Although the fabric has already been washed, the ribbon trim has not. It is therefore advisable on the first wash to use a gentle cycle with the use of a colour catcher to avoid any colour run from the ribbon.
