Scandi Style Christmas Stocking
Here’s a beautifully simple, handmade by me, Scandinavian-inspired Christmas stocking, that captures that cosy, hygge-filled Nordic Christmas spirit.
This generous stocking is sewn from a soft, homespun linen-cotton blend, the kind of fabric that has a gentle slub and slightly rustic texture, as if it’s been woven on an old loom in a snowy cabin.
The wide turn-over cuff is the joyful pop of Christmas colour: a classic Scandinavian pattern with tiny geometric hearts, stars, Christmas trees, and miniature reindeer complete the look.
Added to the hanging red satin ribbon, are four brightly coloured jingle bells. These are easily removed if not to your taste. They give a soft, gentle tinkling sound every time the stocking is moved or filled – pure Christmas magic without being overpowering.
Inside, it is fully lined with a contrasting red cotton, giving structure and a lovely surprise of colour when you peek inside.
The overall effect is understated yet utterly charming – calm, natural, and timeless, with just enough folk detail, red cheer, and the gentle jingle of bells to feel properly Christmassy in the best Scandi tradition. It looks like it belongs under a simple wreath of fresh pine branches in a cabin lit only by candlelight and fairy lights.

It is advisable on the first wash to use a cool gentle cycle with the use of a colour catcher to avoid any colour run. Remove the jingle bells before washing.
