This Victorian leather polish pot was produced by The Magic Polish Co. Ltd in Leicester during the nineteenth century. The company specialised in high-quality goods for the boot and shoe repair trade, particularly for staining leather. The pot features its original typography and is a delightful example of antique stoneware.
Like many products from the Victorian era, it was typically sold in either glass or stoneware, and this Victorian leather polish pot was buried alongside millions of others and then unearthed from a Victorian rubbish tip. Amazingly, it was found in good condition and intact. It would make a fantastic display piece for those who appreciate vintage items. I would put a single flower in it to show it off.
