This beautiful super rare watercolour painting has been painted by the artist LORENZO RIZZI (1830 – 1885). It depicts the scene of a Venice canal with a gondola, beautiful buildings, bridge and walkways. Rizzi was a Venetian artist; he painted many watercolour scenes around the city. He also painted portraits; an example is Abbot Leopoldo completed in 1885 before he died. However, he remained fascinated with the local scene and this painting is an example of that and therefore highly collectable. The painting has been glued on board but without frame or mount and is in excellent condition with no damage, just needs reframing or the board re-sizing; it certainly is a piece of art by an established famous artist and the price reflects this.
